Xpeng Motors adopts a hybrid model of self-built direct operation and authorized dealer franchise on the terminal network, but the two channels belong to different responsible persons, and the direct operation model belongs to the entity of Xpeng Automobile Trading Company, and co-founder He Tao is responsible; Authorized dealers are managed by UDS and are headed by Liao Qinghong, chief talent officer and vice president of sales of Xpeng Motors.
As of the third quarter of 2022, the number of Xpeng Motors stores has exceeded 400, of which about 70% are directly operated stores and 30% are agents.
Interface News quoted people familiar with the matter as saying that UDS nominally manages all stores of Xpeng Motors, but in terms of organizational structure, Xpeng Auto Trade and UDS belong to an equal relationship. When there is a conflict of interest between a directly operated store and an authorized distributor, the two systems do not cooperate well.
At the same time, the report also said that after Wang Fengying, the new president of Xpeng Motors, was in charge of sales, the original regional system of Xpeng Motors was abolished and re-divided into more than 20 sales communities across the country, and the directly operated stores and authorized dealers in each community were in charge of the community.
Wang Fengying officially joined Xpeng Motors on January 30 this year as president, fully responsible for Xpeng Motors’ product planning, product matrix and sales system.
